A sunset in Sardinia
cappuccino in Rome
gondolas on the grand canal
make Italia home.

A lover here and maybe there
some Bardolino wine
live life as though a fantasy
la bella vita's thine.

Old masters adorn castle walls
iced gelato in heat
Tuscany wineyards in full bloom
a place where poets meet.

Such beauty lies in wait for you
so let it fill your soul
don't waste another moment here
to Italy, let's go!

Just a thought that this would be such a lovely place for a Passions group get together.  Sigh..

yes I must agree... I live and work on an estate vineyard. there is nothing more romantic and poetic. I love to sip a glass of wine and gaze across the landscape just as the sun is setting...

wpwpoet, I'd love to hear more about your life in the vinyards. I have recently been reading and falling in love with that lifestyle.

OK - I am packed too with passport in hand.  I can picture the villa on the mountainside sipping wine on the deck.  Oh how romantic!  Enjoyed the thoughts!

I think Italy is it and I think all PIPers should be in heat when they get there!  Oh, that didn't come out right.    Im sorry, in a strange mood today, can't stop laughing and have no reason to laugh but hey, it feels good!

Cat, this is so very pretty...and I think Nan could use a break from the heat, I know I could...

now I just have to figure out where to go to get a passport....

then I have to pack my bags, find the dog a home, get a keeper for the cat, find someone to take care of the bird,

LOL...

You'll see me when I get there!

And when you're all down in Italy and have had enough sips of Italian wine, just pop over to the Netherlands, to inhale this countrylife. We don't have a viniyard, but we do make our own wine from apples and berries. I've a guesthouse, not finished yet, but who cares.

Love your poem with beautiful images Catalinamoon

Ah -- the capital of Hedonism and Epicureanism...  the music; the cars; the food; the clothes; the films; the people, to name a few things...  AWFULLY tempting.  Your poem elicits a most enjoyable picture, Sandra.  (Nice pic, by the way -- are you there already? ;->  )

I sure do wish we were all headed off to Venice right now, or maybe not, it might be too hot. Is there a cooler spot in Italy? I have never been, but it seems to call to me in some way.

Brings back memorys of a restaurant in Naples.
I would sit out side and watch the moon rise over Mt.Vesuvius and linger over a glass of wine. The music would play and the cats danced under the tables.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, I would love to visit Italy too, mmmmmmmm...we could all lay down under the Sistine ceiling for hours and dream away together as poets! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, I would love to take this vacation with you! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sandra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
