The ladder of life is like no other There is no top above only an end below There is no ground beneath only sky all around I go up and down finding things to hold on to But when they vanish I go down How far I go down depends on what I can see If I hold on to hope I will never fall When it hurts so much and I just want to let go When I see nothing and give up hope When I honestly believe that falling is better You're there for me as you always have been Please be there this time just this one last time Yesterday's history, tomorrow's a mystery, and today is a gift. That's why they call it the present. [This message has been edited by Maverick Wolf (edited 08-09-2001).] |

Nice metaphor....and a pleasant ending. It is always nice to have someone at the end of the ladder, steadying it for us ~Krista "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. |

I would have to have help up and down. I'm afraid of heights! Some of us admire others reaching for the stars, while we ride our dream bikes down here on the roads of life. Great verse and you my friend are so brave! Sincerely, Regina |

I like the life as a ladder idea. This is really neat, sometimes you need people to hold the ladder for ya if you are shakey. Freedom is not Free (Korean War memorial) |
