A Hill of pain holds silent The horizon of gum drop skies Alone she stands with outstretched limbs Whispering the Children round She is black against the sun She is weary in the moon glaze She awaits the softened foot fall One by one they come. Head down, they know the way Single file, they traipse the path Millions, scared, they come She sees them headed towards her She wails the calling cry For Someone has to weep for them Someone has to bow down their nature And bring them to the fold. She takes each one into her girth Placing each, on branch of high Seeing that they are caressed With leaves of softest green She cradles their bodies, gently Whispering to them the love They have missed within the world Promising To Never Let, the Bough Break Promising to Never allow anyone To Picture them in the world again. |

I want/need this feeling, it's lovely. " I walked beside the evening sea And dreamed a dream that could not be" George William Curtis" |

Thank you all so much! I am so pleased this brought something of beauty to you all. I have hidden, or somewhat filtered my anguish in this poem. I was provoked by the ugliest bit of news heard on the radio today. And for lack of not knowing what to do about it, fear of losing my thoughts to pure disgust, I wrote of something that brought a feeling of safe harbor to the children. Who were exploited in the most repugnat way. All I could do was cry. I wanted to paint for them a place to go, to be, to belong, that they would never have to worry anymore, for heaven is too far away to a little child who may have to live in this world for another 50-70 years. I hope someone shows them the love they missed in the first chapter of their lives. So sad, So sorry to spill out this way, but so sad for them. Thank you for your replies. Sincerely, Regina |

There should never be need of apology or even explanation for trying to bring back beauty or even endeavor to recapture lost innocence to those in need. Just understand the awesome task. A beautiful gesture. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve" |

Beautifully written Regina...even more beautiful is the compassion that shines through. You saw ugliness and faced it with beauty.....I could just hug you for that lovely. ~Krista "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. The imagery you painted was poignant and heart-wrenching... I think you've accomplished your mission in this, and I hope that you, or someone, publish this in the places required so that many more can read it... well done! |

Dear Regina, yet again a wonderful write, I pictured the mother called nature, harbouring the souls of the lost. I felt the compassion, the weeping pain and the offering of love. Great work Regina. Rick |

Sunshine: I appreciate your most gracious response. This was a hard one to write. Thank you so much! Cpat: Thank you for pointing out how I managed to keep my temper from spewing. It is a hard topic bar none that I know. I'm so glad you felt that way. Rick: Beautifully said, and humbly taken. I sincerely appreciate your constantcy for you don't know how good it is for my soul. Seymour: Much gratitude to you for reading. Thank you for your reply. Sincerely, Regina |
