Youth

Today I am pleased
By simple things,
To laugh and dream
Of the day
I would be king.

To contemplate
Love and fate,
Imagination,
A world to adore
And quiet time to explore

Tomorrow, my heart
Will ask for more.
As I plead
At heavens door.

Oh, then to look back
And to remember
A time as this
When pleasure came
From simpleness.

A whole world
To explore,
Yet I shall ask
For so much more
When all I need
Is already at my door.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

Sometimes it is so hard to see what we hold in our hands when we are so intent on looking to the horizon. Wonderfully penned and expressed and I truely liked the cadence in this piece. Well done.
