As night falls
I thank you God
For a cool breeze,
Crickets that sing,
A little frog
To watch as
He makes his way
Through the grass,
An orchestra of insect songs
For a cat that crawls
Up into my lap,
For a quiet resting place
Between today and
A new tomorrow

We should all remember to thank God for the little pleasures in life because that's what counts. I enjoyed this!

Songbird, you fit your name...this was indeed like a song, and I would be thrilled if you could send a little "cool" our way!

Glad you all enjoyed..it only took less that five minutes sitting on my porch at end of day to inspire this prayer. We have had very hot days too.. and there really was a cool breeze coming my way. I love nature guess you all know that by now if you have read very many of my poems.

It gives me great joy
to hear songs of
positive thoughts,
especially ones
where someone
takes time
to say
Thank You
for the little
pleasures in life
