Earth, she stares through hazy eyes Ancient voices throw their cries Spirits wake from long deep sleep Seas of tears our earth does weep Tears that fall upon her land Tears that flow and touch her sand Washing not her land of rot Cleaning not the seas she’s got Her land once pure long ago Is wilting now with pain A century of time has passed Where man has gone insane Feeding skies with poison Pollutants rising free Filling seas with killing oils Which all the world could see Robbing forests of the trees Which grow towards the sun Robbing rivers pure and sweet Of land on which to run Unthinking and uncaring Unfeeling of effect But then the years go on and on And earth is slowly wrecked And time won’t fix these many things If they on further go And earth will keep her face of pain A smile no longer show So we must realise, lest forget That earth it is our home That we must think before we act So earth stands not alone We must give her pardon from many things we do We must build a unity, a relationship of new Then earth itself may feel at peace and try to self-repair Instead of putting up with man, who clearly doesn’t care (An edited poem from a few years back) |

Rick, it's so sad what we all are guilty of doing....I try in as many ways as I can, to change the way I do things, and we are teaching our kids to do better than us. ![]() ![]() |

This is a deeply insightful and profound poem. Thank you for sharing this important message with us - we all need to be reminded from time to time. This is extremely well expressed. Melissa~ |
