~* Worth A Thousand Words *~

I can almost see you up in Heaven,
And often wonder what it is you see…
Is it as beautiful as they say it is?
Are you looking down on me?

I picture you surrounded,
By a million stars shining bright,
This I do vision often outside,
When I stare at the heavens at night.

As I sit here in this lonely place,
Reflecting on the loss of you, my friend,
I glanced around the empty room,
Then words came to be penned.

In loss there is such an empty place,
You’re gone, and I can no longer see,
Unless of course I use my heart,
Then Willow, you’re here with me.

A picture's worth a thousand words,
Or so it has been said.
And none speaks so truthfully,
As the one I keep beside my bed.

Contained within a frame of gold,
Is a picture of Willow and me,
It's a reminder of all the fun we had,
The things we used to do you see.

The smiles on both our faces,
Revealed the love we felt inside.
The affection that we shared,
Was something we couldn't hide.

But then the inevitable happened,
And God called her to his breast,
She was so weary and tired,
So she went to heaven to rest.

Although you’ve gone to heaven,
Now an angel dancing on a cloud,
You taught me all about friendship,
Ours is forever, this we vowed.

Life is so very different Willow,
I miss our phone calls filled with love,
But I know I’m going to get through this,
With you watching over me from above.

This is so beautifully and tenderly spoken, Sharon...The echo of your heartbeat can be heard within the walls of every verse...a tribute to your friend that touches my heart to the deepest level and finds me wiping a tear ~ I am certain that she feels the sentiments you express and is smiling from the realms of Heaven upon the most wonderful gift of friendship ever given.  Thank you for sharing this deeply touching dedication with us, Sharon.
Hugs, Smiles, and much love to you, ~*~dawn~*~

Mysteria, nothing can replace the love of a friend. New ones may come but the old ones still linger forever. Beautiful, loving tribute.

Mysteria, where you find the art to accompany your words is a treasure trove...this is lovely in so very many ways....

she is watching...as are all of those that have gone on before....

no wonder your heart is so big....

With much sadness for your loss in my heart... I want to let you know that from on high, where joy is constant, she smiles down upon you...(her dear loving friend) and sends her love right back. Written with a pen dipped in mournful lament. Your poetry is awesome! Love and peace Maggie

Decaflame (art and poetry are my passion) and to me they just naturally go together for some reason) I have discs of art, and several sites on the web where I store them, so if you ever need anything - give me a shout! I do know she sees us, just getting used to the transition I guess.

Maggie - did I ever tell you that you are simply an angel on earth - well you are!  Thank you for your kind words.
