Faded a lot with the corners all torn
A little boy stands he looks quite forlorn
A familiar slight grin is residing his face
‘Say cheese’ they laugh…. his hat is in place

A small curl of hair is wafting his brow
The ice cream in hand is all melting now
His face is alert with the fun of it all
In big football boots his foot on the ball

The graze on his knee he won’t feel a bit
As proudly he stands in his new football kit
His eyes staring brightly to the future in store
He’s lived seven years he wants ninety more

The halcyon days of children at play
Why does life come and take them away
Those moments are golden laced with the moon
But time marches on……. you grow up to soon

The snapshot I hold all faded and creased
Reminds me that time on this planet is leased
Reminds me to live everyday here with joy
And capture the dreams of that happy small boy

Really wonderful reminisce. I do that alot with old pictures. They hold so much don't they. Enjoyed the read.

Jon-
What a wonderful moment of nostalgia this is.
   You've painted the picture well.
   Nicely done.
