Hang By: Noah Eaton 7/30/01 She looks at the sunset, watching it fade before her Nonchalant to the possibilities of her prayers She rolls her eyes; I claim to believe what she is thinking And how I want to make a halo from the ashes of her charity I watch her tears fall like the rain, painting rainbows on her face And I never stop thinking if I can see her see the light of day To watch and see this graceful woman I dream of her to be If she will ever feel free How great it feels to dream Of running away and feeling free There has to be something more to help her change If there’s not, I might as well just hang Charlotte, weave your webs for my eyes to see Crystal palaces of serendipity To rescue her from this frigid prison Make herself her happy companion Christ, don’t leave me alone with her Help me get through this slumber Be my savior And help me to return her favor How great it feels to dream Of running away and feeling free There has to be something more to help her change If there’s not, I might as well just hang What am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to say? Have all my hopes fallen short? Am I too late? You say everythings your fault So pick up your legs and take the default Crawl over these prison walls I won’t let you fall And I can’t help but think someday You’ll be free and you’ll feel safe Miracles can happen, anyone can change Don’t let yourself break, don’t let yourself hang I think of you all the time I don't want to see you break Stand still and I'll be there I hope it's not too late... |
