Clouds caressed with a golden glow, With the sun sinking in horizon low. Waters glisten in brass and blue, Painting life’s picture a lovely hue. Silvery scales of a flying fish, Skipping the surface in sudden bliss. Below the surface, a changing way, Underwater twilight takes over the day. Sea fans sway in purple wave, As if to welcome the night life’s stay. Tiny creatures creep from spongy cover, Hidden from the day where they hover. Swirls of fry move in intricate dance, To a tune of their own that can’t be by chance. Sea cucumbers slide across bottom sand, While star fish move with invisible hand. Puff fish swells in sudden fright, As a sea bass glides in the beginning night. Are we so blind to the world above, as the one that’s down? What would it take to have feet firmly to ground? We’ve raped the land and plundered the treasures. Is hope all gone beyond all measures? The sea will die, as does the land, It is up to us to save all, if only we stand. |

Logan, I love the ocean also, and I hope it will not be destroyed by the carelessness of man. Nicely done, crystal images. Sandra |

You have taken the beginning of a beautiful scene and gave feel to the world in which we stemmed from, only to return to now as a visitor, and then deftly, carefully, showed us how easily so much beauty could be lost in a moment. A true sign of a poet with a heart, and compassion. Well done, Sir... |

Truly a verbal painting -- reminds me of scenery I've seen snorkeling... The last stanza made for a strong and important statement after the set-up of the beauty of the sea & all its inhabitants. I enjoyed this. -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

*sigh* I had to print this out yesterday. I took it home, read it, and LOVED it. Sometimes we neglect the beauty given to us. You paint a wonderful picture here, Sweet One! |
