The Day You Came My Way

You came along and stole my heart
You touched my inner soul so delicately
awakening feelings never known before
You opened the door to my heart
and made yourself at home
I welcomed you with outstretched arms
and you drew me in with your eyes
Your eyes so full of tenderness and love

How easily I became absorbed in you
as you made my heart grow fonder
I have been blessed with your love and kindness
and I can't help but wonder
Was I ever really loved before?

Your love has taken me
to a higher level of happiness
and you have elevated me
out of my clouds of darkness
Your love shines on me like
the warming rays of the sun
and you have made me feel like
the brightest star in the heavens
Within your heart is where I'd like to remain
like a fond memory that never fades from view

I understand the soul of this poem, for I've been there and have had similar things told to me in the past... This is truly a place of euphoria, where time has no meaning and life makes complete sense -- the kind of place no one would ever want to leave... Very nice write, Sue.
