Don’t be jealous of us two Remember you told me we were through So I went out and took your words to heart And gave myself a brand new start How was I to know he was your son? Remember you told me I was the only one So how could I know of a life before me And how I met him is such a mystery Your wife seems to like me, look how she smiles She thinks I am the best thing to happen to her child Little does she know I was the best for you too Or is that a piece of information she somehow never knew? Put your checkbook away old man, money just won’t do You broke my heart and shattered my dreams, the same will come to you I will marry him if I have to, don’t look so sad there “Dad” You never should have thrown away all that we once had……… Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...
