Luna shines there, so high above
in the brilliance of night time skies,
I am held there, within a trance
No, I can not divert my eyes.
I see the mists of yesterday
blow past in the gentle breeze,
and I'm lost in this sullen sadness
yet Luna helps my pain to ease.
I hear the whispers on the wind
as the great spirits help to guide,
and up in those starry heavens
I am sure that angels do reside.
This night, it surely has been blessed
with cool freshness of air to breathe,
and mesmerized, I sit and stare
or does Luna attempt to deceive?
Somewhere out there in the distance
as Luna illuminates the evening skies,
mother nature sings her lonely song
as tears fall steadily from my eyes.
In the magic of this quiet moment
with Luna dressed in all her majesty,
the stars, they dance across the skies
and I am filled with peace~ and tranquility.

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

I know you're speaking of the moon and this was lovely for that, but I, myself, couldn't help thinking of the lovely, green luna moth. Have you seen it? It's so gorgeous.

Now back to your poem, lovely descriptive lines with peace conveyed marvelously.
