"Tis strange the different forms of ancient days For writing poetry, some good, some bad. Only the brave dared change them just a tad. I take my pen to write in Rondel ways, To fit the mold these old time poets had. 'Tis strange the different forms of ancient days, For writing poetry, some good, some bad. To each his own deciding if it pays To try to follow this out-moded fad. Can one emote, with feelings glad or sad? 'Tis strange the different forms of ancient days, For writing poetry, some good, some bad. Only the brave dared change them just a tad. By: Joyce |

well, I could tell similarities of the stanzas of the rondel in your example, but am unsure of the particular differences in the three stanzas I enjoyed the read and would like a definition of the form or the parameters of the differences. |

I have attempted rondels, and they are not so easy! You brought smiles along with you on this one, Joyce! |

I love this!!! You know, we really should try to bring back some of these older forms. . . I've been wondering what the poetic "rondel" might have in common with a musical "rondel". . . great job!! ---------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Joyce~ A most delightful read. Well-executed ... Thank you for sharing the beauty of this older verse style. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Joyce: This was great! I have written a few rondels and they are not easy! It is a challenge though to try some of the older forms of poetry and enjoyable. Betty Lou Hebert |
