Participants In a Commodity Known as Life: A brief moment In an ever-changing Process Where The light of day Succumbs To A shroud of mystery As Time Progresses into Twilight. Another form Of progression: From The facade Of an exterior image To the interior Of an altogether Different world -- That of the mind Where Images Take a different meaning, Where Light Is not necessarily The same As it is Outside... A form Of darkness Can envelop The so-called Familiarity Of place and time, Creating A discrepancy Between the Accustomed And the Unacquainted... A comparison Between Accepted knowledge And Questioning curiosity Where Normal boundaries No longer Apply, And the only Limit To the Completion Of a New reality Is that of Imagination. Objects And Circumstances Acquire New definitions Relating to Perspectives Of Others than ourselves. Views and concerns Which may reflect Ones felt Or Those never experienced. The only true confinement Is That which is imposed By one's self. New horizons Exist As long as there is Courage To pursue them. The path And Pace Are set by Those who participate In The commodity Known As Life. (Copyright 1988 by: MARK V SHELDON) "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

It takes all kinds to make the world go round. I appreciate your views, perspective, and your position in this (As a poet, and a person) If you did this quickly you are a genius, or else playing with my mind! I wish everyone would respect the voice of life. Sincerely, Rwood |

Thank you, Walker. "Limits" are not always as limiting as they may seem... Voiceless -- it is my pleasure to make people think... not enough of that happening in our world, nowadays... Regina: thank you for your very kind words. Actually, it's a very interesting story behind this write... This saved my hide back in college when I learned to my horror, the hard way, the night before my film was due for presentation the next day in film class, that 2 1/2 minutes of the 3-minute short were UNDEREXPOSED!!! I was editing it and found that I had almost nothing with which to work, so, not having too many options, I decided to write a voiceover that could "carry" the shots that I could save... To this day, I confess that "someone upstairs" channeled this write through me, in a matter of minutes, given the "failure is not an option" scenario of the class... Thankfully, I have always been a huge Rod Serling/Twilight Zone fan, and somehow, writing a V.O. with that in mind, I could literally "throw-together" a "script" which served as the "glue" to patch-over and rationalize the mediocrity with which I was left after editing together the non-sequetor scenes... Suffice to say, that with a little reverb on my voice and a solemn read, the class ate it up (though I'll always have a chuckle when reflecting back on this "Kodak Moment" of a day-in-the-life of a struggling film student...) -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Logan, thank you so much for the inspiring reply. I like to think that I make, if but a little, difference here, and it's nice to know that someone thinks so. I, again, consider it to be an honor and privilege to be here and share life with everyone here. This forum is a little sanctuary of goodness in a very large orb of effort trying to desparately prove otherwise. I won't buy, for a second, that all hope is lost -- not as long as a few of us remain who dare to question, challenge, and defy the "status-quo" of negativity out there around us. Richard, "win" is relative, but it's always worth "playing". Thank you for the read & reply. -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Very thoughtful write Mark...I love to hear how you view things. I definitely agree with Logan, your comments and poems are indispensible "Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. |

A thought provoking and powerful read...with a lesson to be taken to heart. Life is one of those commodities we too often take for granted. Lessons learned are lessons lived. Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

Sandra -- For a moment, I was ON that "other world"! Luckily, the impression lasted... Krista, thank you so much for your high praise -- that's a weighty honor and responsibility with which you bestow me! I'll do my best and will remain true to myself. Dulcinea... thank you. Circles have a way of bringing you back to the point from where you came... For that reason, I prefer to think of it as a spiral -- a spiral seemingly brings you back to a familiar place but with the added benefit of "progress" and Wisdom (hopefully... assuming it's an UPWARD spiral, of course!) Most true, azblond. Lessons lived are lessons taught. -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Ron, thank you. ...what a little "Oh my God, if I don't think of something quick to save this project, I'm going to FAIL this assignment!" won't do to channel in the ethers! Liz, thank you so much -- I'm glad it inspired those properties for you. Constance, thank you for the read and reply. I think we all have something to say -- I just tend to get vehement about my points of view... :-) I still say: I know very little but I have a strong opinion about everything. -MVS -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Thank you so much, Elise, but I think you give me too much credit -- this but touches on some of the aspects of life that many of us feel... there's so much more to discover and share... -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |
