Epilogue I took my first step outside of the world Caused magic to rise, then tumbl'ing, it swirled. Roses grew dim, they rusted with time Thorns prickled the hand, that caressed its vine. Most ancient of worlds, a canyon of sighs In placid abyss among ravenous cries. Clouds blocked the heavens and halos of light Wingless, they fell, from infinite heights. Knights of the Dead drew swords and their shields Riding black horses through wood and through fields. Menacing voices rang true from their steeds And songs of the vile retold of their deeds. Soldiers of kings too proud to give in Wounded, their souls were forever within Never to leave, yet half dead they live With dreams of the wars that they forever relive. I stood there in awe of this war raging world With Death in my hands, I watched the Light twirl Warring with foes, and brethren: their own The sun and the moon were finally shown. Imperfect crystals hung lifeless in caves Broken, it seemed, its soul was a slave. Tales of Dreams and wishes come true Were nothing but Visions, Visions they drew. I threw the dark book into feiry flames This darkness had always been part of the games, That light was a part of, as well as the soul And torture of lives that were under control. The flames in the fire glowed bright from the fuel It crackled with pleasure, heartless and cruel. The pages were worn, the writing exposed The "dark materials" chapter was eternally closed. ===== *ahem* Thus endeth the Dark Materials Chapter. Thank you to all who replied to the others. Your encouragement and comments were gratefully received. ![]() As for now, I have yet to cook up another idea... Until my next post, adieu. ![]() °L.§.W.° Va pensiero sull' ali dorate... |

Ooooooh!! Can't believe I missed the others in the series. *sigh* Looks like I'll have to read them from the beginning, 'cause this it too good not to have the full story behind it. I agree with everyone here about the ending too. Greatastic job! ![]() "and Death i think is no paranthesis"-e.e. cummings |

You're closing the series? Like hell you are! Write some more of these! ![]() What an amazing piece. Definitely a fitting ending to a splendid series. Your flow was terrific UNTIL you hit the second last stanza. Now this could have just been the way I was reading it but I found it to be all out of whack with the rest of the piece. Anyway, I'll give you an indepth review of this tomorrow. I'm way too tired to think now. EJ needs sleep. ~AF~ I'm a little teapot, short and stout! Here is my handle, here is my spout. *toot toot* |

Poet Unknown, Love's Addiction, and Kandi- Glad you liked it, thanks for reading! ![]() Cherish- Sorry, had to burn the book...what else was i supposed to do with it? ![]() Sean- Yeah, you should be ashamed of yourself for missing all them other ones! FOR SHAME!!!!!!! hehe. ![]() Android 17- Yeah, shame on you too for coming at the end! SHAME! And of course I'll check out yours. Why wouldn't I? ![]() EJ- Yes, I'm closing THIS series. There's going to be *cough* another *cough* one. *hack* ![]() The second last stanza is a little weird, but if you read it a certain way, it works. ^_^ Thanks for commenting though, but sleep should always come first. Jah? ^_____^ Jon- This series did take a lot of time to think out...there was this huge time span between #4 and #5 because I lost all sense of poetry. hehe. ![]() Thanks again to everyone! °L.§.W.° Va pensiero sull' ali dorate... |
