“Oh my gosh, you’re so skinny! I hear them say . . . but I don’t see it “I’m not that skinny, guys” They just shake their heads and walk away When I get home I look in the mirror To see if I can see what they do Sadly, I see a chunky girl I pick up a pair of jeans And slip into them . . . they’re too big They fit fine the other day A look at the tag reveals that a “5” is too big What’s wrong with me . . . I look in the mirror again and gasp I see bones sticking out all over My hips, my shoulders, my back All bony . . . “I think I have a problem” I know I’m thin, but I didn’t think I was that small. Ok, I wrote this because a lot of people tell me that I’m too skinny, but I really don’t see myself and being that small at all. I’m, like, 5’5 and 115 pounds. I never thought much of it. Whenever I look at myself in the mirror, I see a chunky little girl. Its not like I’m on any weird diets or anything, either . . . I just stay away from eating meats. . . Spent too much tyme on a farm for that. *sigh* nobody cares ~*~ Tamma Loves Will~*~ "A friend's shoulder makes a nice pillow when you're crying" ~Me [This message has been edited by Tamma (edited 06-28-2001).] |

Everyone has weight issues. I really hope that yours are not getting out of hand. Talk to someone if you think they are. I know how it is to hear one thing from your friend and see something totally different in your mirror. But you may want to get help beofre this does turn in to a problem. *Amanda* |

That's good that you're not taking on any drastic diets... there's nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. If your friends think you have a problem, and you don't then tell them. nice poem. I enjoyed it. --Marie You can’t expect the roses to grow without the weeds. |

Eating disorders suck but at least you are sort of realising and addressing the issue instead of denying it. Try and get some help though, alright. You said "I think I have a problem." To even think means you have some doubt so go see someone. ~AF~ Just because I hear voices doesn't mean I'm crazy...SHUT UP IN THERE!!! |

that's such a harsh reality poem for me... i'm 5'8"ish and i weight 9st 10lbs... and i get called fat. it really hacks me off, cos i'm not particuarly.*Cries* people can be mean. but you did so well in addressing the opposite end of the spectrum. well done and be proud love peace and eyeliner angel -x- The road ahead is as long as you make it. Ok I'm 5'7 and 110lbs....not that far from you Tamma......when I look in the mirror I see a puny, little boy haha. Weird how we are almost the same, but see complete opposites. That just goes to show you that the way YOU see yourself isn't necessarily how others see you. In your case, you are beautiful and skinny. In my case, I'm actually puny and people tell me so hahaha...so I guess I lose? Anyhow, nicely done on the poem. Don't stress too much about looks. We're all bound to get nasty and wrinkly eventually. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

No-one is completely happy with their size, height or weight and your poem captures the insecurity so well, it is a truly brilliant poem because I am intrigued with the disorder of anorexia because in your case it has not yet kicked in but it is parculiar how a part of the disorder hits most people. I too have written a poem about being thin because people call me skinny too, it is called "Diary of a dying soul" and can be found on here! Keep writing because this was truly wonderful. ^*~Kim~*^ "Theres no posession, just obsession and growing depression" [This message has been edited by Kicking Kim (edited 06-30-2001).] |

This was good...I can relate...well good jo. I really enjoy how everything is very to the point in your poems. It makes for intersting reading material. Regina If you only understood my pain then maybe you could learn to be my friend. Be there. My crying shoulder. The smiles. And the caring i need to survive. |

That was a good read Tamma. You are skinny if you are only 115 at 5'5". I believe you should be aroudn 125-130. I'm not sure though. I guess you need to start eating more ![]() hi Sweets, Kris, Lizzy, Ina, Erin, Erica, Minna, Kit, Kamie, Javi, Jenn, Sharon, Nan, Cawlee, Cherish, Ashley, Sara, Justine, Leah, Jess, Kimmie, Mare |
