Love in Dangerous Hands

A single crimson rose
Against the panel of wood
Alone, yet not
For someone is there...
A man
With strong hands
And bright blue eyes
Searches the panel for his love.
Yes, the rose,
A deep love is she.
He gently holds the rose within his hands
And strokes it tenderly
Caressing it softly.
And then
The thorns embed themselves
Within his foolish canvas of skin
As blood flows down the creases in his hands.
In rage, he throws the rose
A blow so powerful
Its petals fall one by one
Wrecked in all its beauty.
The hands leave.
There, the rose lies
On the dirty ground.
Yet one petal remains

I vowed never to write a love poem. But nevermind...this is different...THIS DOESN'T COUNT! I don't like this one though...I never really was good at writing about love...

the narrative it was written was quite nicely told with the emotions in this piece.
i to be honest, Leah...loved this piece...such beauty...and the symbolism was amazing...the petals leaving one STIll attached...tells so much...of the desolation.

Awesome! Simply awesome description of this! The title says it all and the poem really works well with its actions.
I REALLY loved the poem.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.
