SOmething tells me I'll be writing a lot of poems about this. I am going to be leaving town soon, and my church youth group with it. I am going to miss them so much, not necessarily because I knew each member personally, but because I became so used to them being around superficially. Well, here is a poem on my youth pastor, who has decided to leave as well... I came to you to give a speech, a poem.. Some mem'ry of our pastor who once was. My mind was fill'd with feelings and mem'ries past And my heart could sing with oboes and words so vast, And unseen by eyes, unheard by ears of mortal men. But now those words lie still upon the throne Of speachless lands of..well..of mem'ries past. To write my feelings and sorrow his leaving imparts Does not seem easy, nor even at all possible. Recalling small details of life in that group So great and good calls sorrow to shriek and swoop At all that's call'd ‘smart' or rational or composed. To God who forgives and who the seas can part I send this feeling without description or name. I send the words without speech, The sermon none will preach... The heart of one who will miss him dearly. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

This poem is very good, frac. Very sad... I'm sorry that you have to leave this group of friends that I know you feel safe with. Best of luck in this situation. I hope you give this to your pastor... that would be probably one of the best going away presents he could receive. Nice work. --Marie You can’t expect the roses to grow without the weeds. |

that's a very beautiful tribute to someone who has obviously influenced your life in a very positive way. i agree with marie--definetly show this to your pastor!! "so when at times the mob is swayed to carry praise or blame too far, we may choose something like a star" --Frost |

It reads like this man was a hot favourite for your group. You've once again written a heartfelt piece that I got. (hooray!) lol Yup, the head isn't filled entirely with saw dust. ~AF~ Just because I hear voices doesn't mean I'm crazy...SHUT UP IN THERE!!! |

Nicely done here. A very heartfelt poem. I liked this one a lot kevin. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
