YAY! Made it to 2000! ![]() Anyway, this is the poem to mark the occasion obviously. I personally really like this one and I hope that everyone else gets a kick out it too. ![]() 'Twas down the road of old McKill, Where lazy crickets eased their backs, And lapped up the ginger sun of pure uncertainty. Little Jimmy Tacker burst upon our scene, With no more than a rusty suitcase And a pile of dirt between his knees O'er the railroad to further east In the land of magical dreams. Jimmy tacker took us there And exposed our mortal wealth to the world. Here in the Greenland of angel's tears, We saw our destiny written in the sky. At noon we splashed in the creek o' hope, With Jimmy's girly laugh outshining us all. The total tranquillity of being a victim of our youth, Assured us in some way of our future That it wasn't totally down the drain And we had some sort of recognition to come. Beads of sweat escaped our brows When we all danced under the fiery sky. Jimmy held hands with Sally Drow, Whilst she giggled due to innocence, And the lack of experience That surrounded her pretty head. At night the air smelt different, It always did with a stranger in the town. Yet Jimmy Tacker felt not like a stranger, But a friend we had known all our lives. Humming tunes of 1920 and tracing his finger in the sky, Jimmy allowed us the gift of dreaming, And playing on the advantage of being only 15. For here we schmoozed, we - Caressed life, as we knew it best. For down the road of old McKill, The sweetness was holding onto the dream And allowing the fantasy to happen. In the morn Jimmy's case was gone, Along with his markings of dirty knees. His summer day somehow awakened our spirits, That lay dormant in our stale bodies. I caught Sally with a tear down her cheek, But she brushed it away quickly as if to not show her weakness. However we were all guilty of our weakness, We longed for Jimmy's return. But the dusty road did eventually settle Revealing the pathway out of this golden summer 'Cause we visit the creek and reminisce under the moon So we can all hold a little bit of Jimmy in our eyes. Hey E.J.....Miss Member Elite. Congrats. <--- Jealous ![]() ANYWAY- To the poem. I liked this alot. The description was awesome. (As said above many times) Perhaps I shouldn't say what I got out of it...but I'll do it anyway. (No doubt I'm wrong. HaHa- I always view things completely arse backwards) So this Jimmy guy comes into this town and makes life worth living. Makes life meaningful and fun, makes you take a break form your every day chores and work and schedule to just take a break and he makes you appreciate the things that you, any other day, would take for grant it. And when he leaves, though its sad, they realize that Jimmy taught them something. He made an impact and they don't NEED him around to appreciate life. They can do it alone. Thus- There being a Jimmy in all of us. ANYWAY- Ya- Thats what *I* got out of it...but you know what kind of crack I smoke. HaHa.. ANYWAY...I liked it. Thought it was a perfect post for your 2grand celebration. ![]() |

Liz, this was simply and by far your best poem ever posted upon the pages of Pip! OMG!!!!!!!!!!! This poem was damn near Godliness! I really respect this poem for what it stands for. Simply amazing, jaw dropping amazing. I totally comprehended it, so seeing jessica's view point on the poem was pretty much it. The ending is supberb. I can't say much about this poem without being redundant with my "wowness" and "awesome!".....so yea. You really shocked me with this one. Raw poetry right here.....the epitome of being. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
