This one's about my grandfather. He's been my inspiration for many things in life, and I hope he continues to be. Eyes Speak to me with your silent eyes They laugh and shine in their greatness Quiet contemplation gives them color Breathtaking beauty makes them sparkle in darkness. Sorrow makes the winding canals of wrinkles Radiant sunlight granted you taut barren skin Experience handed down rough and hilly hands A quiet hum of a machine allows ability to listen. Years passed with gifts of wisdom infinite Brilliance left your hair to feed those eyes They overcome me as I look upon you With their gaze, my soul liquifies. when i see elderly people, i see this quite strength in them that we, my generation, lacks. something that we would be better off having, but have some how or some time, lost that step in the growing up process. to me, it seems they can make it through any trials that life may throw to them. your second stanza: quote:really made that stand out to me. i loved all of this amanda. i hope he knew/knows how you felt towards him. *nuzzle* wub you sweetie. tiff “A single choice can build destinies, or destroy them.” |

I loved this, mabey because I have an incredible grandfather myself, if I ever managed to write anything about him that was half as eloquent as this poem is I would most definetly give it to him as a present! |
