when i see britney spears, my stomach turns and i puke! when i see britney spears, i just wanna scream if i hear that song one more time! britney and justin? it will never last! when i see britney spears, i'm glad my mom taught me how to dress. when i see britney spears, i wanna say "girl get some class!" ok enough of britney i think i'm gonna puke! too many times have i said her name. omg i think i'm gonna cry. no not because i like her. which i don't! but because i can't stand her and already i've broken my promise to myself. i promised myself i would never say her name! now i've done it what a shame! oh well! hahahah yall like this one? i had to do it cus it was on the brain. robin |

Now Im not a Brittany Spears fan, but jsut humor me for a second. How do you know that she exsists only in her image...have you met her, do you have conversations with her? I admit sometimes her teeny bopper songs and the fact that she has a body I would die for make me sick. But hasn't your mother ever said "Don't judge a book by its cover." In all honesty Robin, if you had come up to me in the street and started talking to me, I might have been a little intimidated, but I know who you are, and I know how great you are. No one is what they seem to be on the outside...so maybe it is a little sad that a lot of her life centers around her perfect body. However, not her whole life. And by the way, if you do in fact know her and talk to her....ask her for her secrets!!! With a couple cents to throw in the bucket, ~Lisa |

My problem with this one is not that you say you hate someone whom you don't even know and base your judgement solely on her music, but the way it's written. It's not even good prose, and it is far from good poetry (in my opinion). I understand that you're just venting, but either way, I don't see any potential in this being a poem. Poetic rants have potential to be wonderful pieces of writing if done in the correct fashion. I realise that you were going for humour, not structure, but perhaps putting it together a bit better might have actually helped you get the point across with somewhat...style. I am merely siding with your critique so I'm putting this little after note in. Judging by your other responses to honesty - don't jump down my throat. Britney Spears? I've never met her. I don't like her music, but I've never vomited from it. And Robin... if you don't like people speaking their minds and holding nothing back, maybe you shouldn't have an "encourages critiques" flag that is so inviting... Whoa.. lol.. I wasn't talking about Britney Spears, LCBS. I actually was being general. I agree that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, which is why I didn't specify her or anyone in particular. I actually don't see anything particularly "wrong" with Britney Spears. I made a general statement about how I think that it's a shame some people don't feel good about being themselves. I'm married to Mr.Metaphor. We make love everyday. I'm not quite sure what to say about this poem, it appears to be quite controversial but maybe it is meant to be. It's not exactly to my tastes, but who said I had good taste. If anything I might say that this poem could use a little work around the edges but I really admire the way that you have gone for a very raw approach to this poem and although it's not going to be a poem that everyone will like it is certainly going to be one that people will remember. My friend told me this poem was hilarious...so here I am reading it. I agree... it is hilarious... only because I don't like the image she has chosen to become in public. But the structure could use a little fine tuning... GOOD STUFF though. I am your God, will you kill me now or shall I be continually suicidal? |
