floating down a river...

Hmmm..I'm not sure if I've posted this here before..I don't think I have.

I don't remember it ever being this cold in May,
Walking out on the porch,
The floor is cold beneath my feet,
I shiver at the memory of our warm summer nights out here,
Looking up at the stars,
I point out all the constellations to myself,
Like you would do for me,
I tell myself the joke you had about Orion's Belt,
But it's not as funny without your smile afterwards,
Sitting in your favorite chair,
I drown my sorrows in an orange soda,
You always loved orange soda,
I don't remember it ever being this cold in May,
Sitting out here in the dark,
I can still hear you laughing,
From the time we got a tent and camped out in the backyard,
I can still hear your guitar,
As you play the song you wrote for me,
I don't remember it ever being this cold in May.

Thanks for reading
