And he will raise me up on eagles wings Or so a choir of angels sings Was this supposed to comfort me ease my pain, help me to see Bear me on the breath of dawn And yet still I know you’re gone And when this music begins to play My anguish is supposed to go away Make me to shine like the sun as if my life has not been undone But I will sit within this pew pretend that I can make it through And hold me in the palm, of his hand leaving more footprints in my sand Well these emotions will soon be wiped away By the waves of tears falling today I don't know if anyone will get this...I will tell you its significance later...only because I want to get what you feel its about first [This message has been edited by LCBS (04-08-2002 09:30 PM).] |

Interesting idea to weave the Bible verse throughout your poem. I took this to be about the loss of someone close to you, and wondering how you could rise above the pain from that loss. It's probably all wrong but that's what I came up with when I read this. Nicely written, Lisa.  ~sky I'm in charge, and I say question authority! |

Yah, I got the impression of someone who has been lost too. I almost thought of a funeral though... But then I couldn't decide who was dead. Hmm... that's a morbid thought. Ok, I give up. What's it about? But I loved the poem... Very beautiful. I LOVE YOU! *kisses you* hehehe... |

Nice way of contradiction. I'm like the others, I get the vision of some one you loved lost, be it a lover, family member, or very dear friend. I can say that I have felt the same way as you with an aunt of mine as well as a lover. But, may sound cheesy, but it'll get better. Sure you hear that allot, but just wanted to say that. Ok, very recently a friend of the family died...and at her funeral they played this song.. My mothers favorite song is on eagles wings...we both were like breaking down...and I wanted it to say something along the lines of "is this supposed to comfort me, because it isn't working.." Anyway..good job guessing, and thanks for responding |
