Sometimes I wish I was invisible...
Then maybe you would see the real me
Not just the outside, the disguise, the facade
You could see past this masquerade, this charade
You could see me

Sometimes I wish I was invisible….
Then maybe I could hide from my reflection
My hurt filled eyes, staring back hauntingly
My soulless gape, my never-ending escape
I could hide

Sometimes I wish I was invisible…
Then maybe no one would stare at me
If they don’t see me, they can’t whisper
I can’t hear their sneers, can’t hear their jeers
I can’t see their stares

Yes, but what would hiding teach you? How to be weak. I'm not trying to make some bold point. I'm sure you already knew that. Besides... you said "sometimes". Sometimes I just wish I was somebody else. I'd be a boy with a multi-colored mohawk and a girlfriend. Oh the possibilities. Anywho, I really liked this poem. Thank you for posting this.
