You were the man,
and yet I did not know.
Anger does demand,
but we will never know.

For you to be here,
is all we do long.
By chance, you were there,
for far too long.

By race, by taste
they chose you.
In there haste,
hate they did spew.

Family now alone,
more on the way...
you were all alone;
we feel so much dismay.

You are now gone,
goodbye I wish to say.
But no, you are gone.
Dammit! I feel but speechless.

Future so bright,
it did blind.
I'd give my sight,
to see again, how kind

...you were.
Damn.

wow - this was a really good poem and a beautiful tribute. I enjoyed it. You have a really interesting and unique way of wording things...keep it up.

That was my favorite part, but I loved the whole poem. I liked how it was very clear, yet had a somewhat abstract feel to it. Also, as was said before by others, this was a wonderful tribute. Thanks for posting. I'm glad you did finally get something out.
