A 14 year hell

This is a poem I wrote for my English class, as we were required to write about our favourite place. Since I don't have one, I decided to play a little with the assignment...

Imagine

I can not find a place,
In this busy world today.
Where I can go where no one's gone,
And not fret about what I say.

Fortune has it-
Or so I'm told,
The spot I seek lies within me,
I can seek it, should I be so bold.

Where happiness thrives,
Money on trees,
No enemies there-
They float away like leaves on the breeze.

By no means can you enter this world by car,
Nor by any people, even if they are kind.
No, you may never find it physically.
This world can only be found in the heart, soul, and mind.

A dreary day in a dreary hour,
Causes you to think.
Of cunning spies, and happy sighs,
A daydream is on the brink.

You fall away into this world,
Wishing of no return.
Spinning down a vortex of thoughts,
Old wishes you begin to yearn.

Out of the dream, you snap like a whip-
To your teacher's glare of forewarning,
Out of the world, which I have come so well to know,,
Though mostly during the morning.

I give a whole new meaning to the word 'sad.'

Always hated having to write things for school projects. I could never write what I wanted and had to go by the teacher's guidelines. I think you did well on this. great message behind it! I wish more could see that there's always a place you can go. you just have to find it. Loved these lines:
