To feel the pain burning within,
Trying so hard not to give in.
Temptations power is rising per minute,
All that I despise reaches for me in an instant.
Living in darkness and under the covers,
Pre-teen dreams and romantic lovers.
All a daydream and pieces of story's told,
Just so now i can finally have my life fit the right mold.
Living in a shell and given a name,
I thought forever here on out i'd stay the same.
It turns out your right and it turns out im wrong,
I wasnt who i thought i was all along.
So scared to see what will become,
Of who i am when this process is done.
Cover my eyes plain out of fear,
Scared to see what will become in the upcoming years.
16's a golden age but so was 10,
I thought i've figured out who i was but im just starting to begin.
Suprises around every corner and memories shed a new light,
Dont know what to make of who i will be or who i though i was my whole life.

girl, I know what you mean.....and you know what? when you get to 18 it will be like this too, then 20, 21 and so on.....you will be constantly reviewing who you were, and who you are now....it's a good thing and it helps you to grow as a person....you don't stay the same, only have traits that will remain consistant. *hugs* I love this poem

Awsome piece like always and I know exactly what you are going through.Because being a Senior this year has made me re-live the past everyday, and I would do anything to go back and do it all over again. But life goes on and eventually things will change forever and I never think it will be this good again.Keep up the awsome work.

Hawwo Michelle

Everybody needs a review of who they are once in a while. It shakes up your soul and keeps you concreted in this world. As horrible as it is and disgusting as breathing can be, you get through it and realise that you get another chance in the morning to turn it all around.
I hope you find what you're looking for in this lifetime and also in the next.

Its hard to find yourself at this age, and part of being a teen is not knowing exactly who you are.  I have followed every fad, and said every cool phrase, but deep down in my heart I know who I am and who I will always be.  Sometimes the real you gets lost trying to fit in, but don't worry its always there, and it will shine during your times of need.

I know exactly how you feel! But you know what? It's just a stage, only YOU can decide who you are and what you wanna be, so make a path for yourself and don't follow others...Just a word of advice. Thanks for sharing your poem!
