The Dark that Lied Within

You said you loved me
you said you cared
but it was all a lie
you defied my trust.....
for two years I lived in a shadow
it was cold and dark, kept from me
to think life is perfect,
that's what I thought...
two years later to find the truth
you may have loved me
you may have cared
but you lied
to know the cold and dark lies now
I don't believe it
I cannot see it
but it's true and I must accept
to move on from a love once thought,
is harder now than before
I'll get through it, I am strong
to love you now is so wrong......
never again will I feel the same,
not by love and not by hurt
the discovery brought all back.....
it's getting easier...
eventually you will fade and life
will no longer be difficult,
but to trust again will be hard,
not trust in you but in another.....
If you loved me
If you cared
you wouldn't have lied
and you wouldn't have left...

I don't even know what to say. It's just a very well written poem filled to the brim with aching emotions. You can't help but read this and feel it too. Thank your for posting this. I wish you the best.

I LOVED this poem! Sorry to here it didn't work out for you though. Hang in there-your obviously too good for them! keep up the good work id love to see more poems!
