Is there any such thing as peace anymore?
Around us is nothing but pain and hate.
Where has the peace and love from 40 years ago gone?
The peace and love from an era of war.

This poem speaks so much truth in the little words that make it up.  It's sad when we can't go one day these days without hearing about a murder, or abduction, or some small act of violence on the evening news.  And what's even more sad is that this generation (the 80's babies) don't know the difference.
Thanks for posting this.  I enjoyed it.  Nice work.

i try not to think about stuff like that.  thinking is bad and only leads to depression, my opinion anyway.  i wish the world could be happy, but i don't control much lol.  good poem...

Interesting ending to the poem.  It's still making me think right now.  I'll get back to you on that.  Thanks for the read

Such a very sad message...so well portrayed.   I'm crying for the world.

Peace is an ideal.
There was never peace.

Anyhow, I enjoyed this one.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

This is a little weak. Maybe with some more expansion it would be a lot stronger. The message behind it has the making of a truly great piece.

actually i didnt find any emotion within your words to illicit any saddness...sorry.

perhaps if you DID expand upon your words you might be able to move ppl a bit more.

could the darkness be my friend?

Hi, Rhonda!
Glad I stumbled across this tonight.
Being the idealist that I am, I believe that,
to a degree, we create our own peace.
Peace can be an attitude...a frame of mind.

I liked this little write.
