My Best Friend When someone says to you “You’re going to lose your best friend.” what do you say to them? My mom recently said to me “Someday soon you will lose your best friend.” I told her that my best friend in important to me, but it didn’t seem like she cared. All she said was “Once Lizzy goes we’re not getting another dog right away.” When she said that it made me cry even harder. The fact that she doesn’t want me to have another companion really upsets me. Now that she has said it she thinks everything will be okay. But I know it won’t be and she knows it won’t be either. I’ll miss when she jumps at the door to greet me when I come home. I’ll miss how she licks my face. I’ll miss how she comes on my bed to wake me up. I’ll miss everything about my best friend. What should I do?... Do I try to have my mom get another dog when Lizzy dies so I won’t be lonely?... Or do I just forget about it and move on with my life? I don’t know what to decide... I wish someone could help me! |
