Tattered edges from Fingered over corners Soft, yet weak From endless viewings. A lady sits and gazes into What we see as nothing Yet somehow, something rides Beyond her eyes But not beyond the illusion Wandering in her mind. Keeping her alive in black and white Her soul is caged within. A simple photograph Of time... Unspoken. For we read the words engraved within Her face And the picture that we do not hold... As our fingerprints smudge the last remaining Details and it Burns within the fire... + + + + + Inspired by a single photograph...major assumptions, but hey, you know how it goes... ~Leah Va pensiero sull' ali dorate... |

A picture is worth a thousand words...you've expressed some in your poem. As my borough has always stated- Do or Die. |

Bravo! I liked how you wrote this...very descriptive. Jenn "In the words of a broken heart, it's just emotion taking me over; you'll never see me fall apart, in the words of a broken heart." |

It's amazing how much we can get from just one single photograph, isn't it? They tell so much but leave too many questions open to the imagination. Excellent job on the imagery here. You've given such a fantastic description that I actually have some sort of idea what the photo looks like. Great job as per usual. Thanks for sharing this with us all Leeeeee-yah ![]() ~AF~ "Reality is only a feeble rendering of the energy brought forth by the imagination" |

Impressive. All of that from a single photograph. It would be neat though to know what the photo was a picture of anyway. I got the feeling of looking at one of those old black and white photos of an old old woman in her rocking chair. Please tell me I'm close. Anywho, another great poem...yea definitely a great poem ![]() "and Death i think is no paranthesis"-e.e. cummings |

you know i do exactly the same thing- stare at old photographs..mainly of my pop and grandad (both of whom died before i was born), and wonder what might have been going through their minds at the time. or what it might have been like to be him looking at the person photographing him. what they might have said to make them smile- or not. what their lives where like at the time of the photo. loads of different things. they're gone now of course...but theyre there "Of time.../Unspoken." i think you did wonderfully with this one. captured my thoughts pretty well. thanks for sharing leah ![]() ![]() ![]() The day I stopped loving I died. |

This was a sweet one! Don't worry if you're making "major assumptions". I mean, you were inspired, and it paid off in a great poem that I shall be placing in my library! Keep up the good writing. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |
