Another freeverse. Hope you like!

I saw the horrifying head stuck out from the body
laying out, spread as the trunk of some hideous
beast crouching there, waiting for me.

The tears stream down from the eyes, still staring
at me, beckoning my mind to speak and her to speak
with me, asking, calling, crying, praying.

I heard the voices telling me there was no real
way to answer this question about evil, telling
me just to go on with life, to forget.

I refuse, damn you I refuse to forget what they've
done.... It will live with me, it will spur me on,
it will be the hook in my jaw, it will drag me.

The assassins came, they struck, and now my father
sits up behind you, the tail of some dark scorpion,
stinging my life, striking this youth down dead.

Blood and tears stream down the stinging creature
that is the dark death of my family... the cantine
of my merciless hate for those opressors...

And so, I press onward,
Through a desert of sorrow.
Drink of this water
That lasts a lifetime.
I drink the bottomless cantine....

You seem to love poems that have a lot of horrific scenery in them. Specially the war poems you used to write. But still, you are a very talented writer. No doubt about that. Would love to see yu write about something different though. Something happy i guess
