In Future Hands ~*~ Upon the terraced slope she rests in dress of Irish Lace. The sun near setting, casts its glow on her young weeping face. She cannot have the man she wants, for he’s already wed. She pushes auburn hair from eyes, remembers words he said. “My love, my light, ah ‘tis not just forsake not this sweet kiss, devotion share, yes this we shall that both know poignant bliss.” She rendered to him that which she possessed to give, her all then left in haste, that she repent “Please God, forgive my fall.” Her swollen breasts and aching back spoke of his seed that grew. It’s shame she feels, the foolishness, and wondered if he knew. Such horrid names she now is called by friends and family. When babe shall come, she’ll move away, perhaps, across the sea. For all she would possess in time in love or future fame is wrapped up now in babe so fine that it have one's good name. She’ll have to lie, say husband died and start her life anew. As dusk descends and hides her tears, it’s all that she can do. ~*~ Auguste & Lady in White thank you for reading. |

SEA - it was a wonderful collaboration, I have much to learn when working with an artist... Interloper, thank you... Poeminister, the "very nicely" is welcome... Elizabeth, that you see her is a fine remark, thank you.... JanetMarie...a title is just as important as the body of work it heads....thank you for sharing that with us.... Martie...thank YOU for reading.... Mysteria...therein lies the duet...not knowing where one begins or one ends...and I shall not give up the secret... Thank you Auguste, this was a true delight. |

SEA, That you like this so much, greatly pleases me. My co-writer is such a gift poet. Without her wonderful talents this poem would not have been possible. Thank you. Interloper, Thank you for coming by and reading. We both much appreciate it. Poeminister, Thanks and am happy you enjoyed this collaboration. Elizabeth Anne, Thank you. I was hoping you'd have a look at this co-write. Janet Marie, I love it when you say "very cool." ![]() Martie, Sad, true, but the story is repeated over and over. Thank you, my friend. The "Bravo" is nice to hear. Mysteria, Yes, I do believe we make a pretty good team. Thank you, Sharon. Lady In White, it was such a pleasure working with you on this and I hope to do so again in the future. Thank you. Proust- |

Despite the such matter there is such a beautiful quality to the poem. Seamless writing the words flow as if from one pen. Loved it. "Build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life". Terry Pratchett |
