Not for me, the lovers' kiss
tender touch, so sweet sublime.
Not for me, my one real bliss
arms wide open, all the time.

Not for me, the opened door
roses fragrance filling rooms.
Not for me, as those before
loving flowers will not bloom.

Nevermore will heartbeats skip
as your eyes look into mine.
Nevermore your wine soaked lips
grapes will wither on the vine.

Not for me, not anymore
since the day you slammed the door.

Very powerful emotions conveyed in this piece.  Well done.  Keep writing, you will heal in time.  Trust me.

dude...I know the feeling all too well...at one point you need to ask yourself: should you continue on and be hurt everyday...or should you cut your losses and start to heal...the latter is harder to buy into...but ultimately it is the best...Rod

Sandra,
So brilliantly and sadly portrayed.  As the saying goes, no matter how trite it may be, "When one door closes, another one opens".  I guess we have to just keep believing...

Oh, my lil sis...
There will be another sweet love for you, I just know...if you will but let it happen. I know the pain is intense, and words will not salve the wound, but you can believe that those of us who love you are there to help you through...believe that...it's true...

The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...

Beautifully written, but very sad to read.  You write your emotion well.

I could hear the echo of that slammed door as it faded into silence...  but you know what?  Anyone who slams the door to you should probably stay the hell out!  Keep your eyes on the road ahead of you -- not on the rear view mirror.

Coco, thanks for bringing this back..I'm not so sad anymore.
Mark, I agree with you, and have changed my thoughts a bit since I wrote this.
