She’s a Fuddy-duddy! Hooray!!!

She’s a fuddy-duddy
well, at least in this realm
she’s a fuddy-duddy
when seated at the helm
of her radical red
Probe model of a Ford
she’s a fuddy-duddy
whose pedal  need not be floored.

I like that in a daughter
whose bent in life’s to be
within the legal limits
set forth for you and me
I need not worry
that she’s bent on self-destruct
she follows what the prof said
when he tempted to instruct.

Defensive driving is a tactic
one that will serve a driver well
in contrast to the offensive
that can hasten one to hell.
You know it’s been a short, short while
that I would readily admit
that I’m a fuddy-duddy
and now I’m proud of it.

But the blessing is all mine
I’m sure it’s easy to see,
That my over 30 daughter
brings me a lot of glee.
For since she’s adopted fuddy-duddiness
my nerves are less on edge
of course, I still must admit
I still hover at the hedge.

What can I say,
it’s a mother’s realm I’m sure
and things that will change it,
well, I’m not racing for the cure.
