If and When

If and when I lose you
what indeed will then be gone?
For memories shall stay in stay
and in my heart … your song.

If and when I lose you
shall I be old and gray?
Will I even know you’ve left,
and not even know the day?

If and when I lose you
will I grieve and be alone?
Or shall I remember happy times
and see how our love had grown?

Will I remember your special look,
when you took my love?
Maybe remember your special touch,
this one I’m dreaming of?

So if and when you leave me
know that in my heart
you’ve given me of your all
and in memory you’ll ne'er depart.

Kari dear heart, this is soooooo good, I know this one, I remember it as being utterly lovely, and it still is dear poet. I couldn't post a reply then but I can now.
