She said "I'm an artist. I painted this picture all by myself." and silently, I thanked God Asking for the wisdom to keep her beliefs in herself exactly as they are now Full and strong She didn't wish to be an artist, someday when she could draw smiles less crooked when her crayons didn't slip out of her lines She realized instantly that she was because she chose to be and could be And so together we framed her picture carefully and placed it on her wall She clasped her little hands together in complete happiness and I thanked God |

The art, no matter which, lies within the passion, becomes our reason to exist. May she always share her gift. Portaits by an angel signed. "The past my prison, confined in solitary voiceless penance." |

Wonderful! If only we could all approach our child's learning with such tender, compassionate encouragement. As a teacher, I see so much of the opposite going on and I know I was guilty of NOT being a very good encourager of my daughter when she was growing, even though I thought, at the time, that I was. |

As a child I also began with crayons and my parents encouraged my efforts. Today I am an artist, largely due to their confidence in my abilities. Please, encourage your little one, always. I enjoyed this much and thank you for posting it. Michael Proust- |

this brings back memories ( and moistens the eyes a bit)-- I still have so many of those treasured pieces of art around... love this There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |
