I lie beside your pale still limbs sounds of the city night (passing cars a blues band in the bar next door) drift in your open window twisting the restless sheet you hung there before you met me. I can't sleep - I watch you silently wanting to pull you from your warm bed, drive you to the lake and talk until dawn, shivering on dewy picnic tables, but you're already talking in your sleep Instead I'll watch you resting soundlessly, and when you reach for me in your dream, I'll realize I am already in love and oh, this is dangerous. |
