The Familiar End Familiar cries to the water that falls from overhead Same feeling just new night watching the steady rain I sit face to face with the glass edged in wood before me Oh, that slow ride down my window drives me insane... Sometimes when I think I can get beyond loving you Your memories come as quickly as the wind And, I try to hold myself against nature's force Oh, how many times must I die to live again... It doesn't matter where I am or what road I may take Your laughter still haunts the nights that's forever gone And, just when I thought I had healed this heart of mine I realized your face was here all along... The familiar end to my nights are always a tear filled pillow And, my familiar end to my morning is mostly the same I just can't breathe without you here in my dreams But, I'm not to proud to walk down beggars lane... Our beginning was my end but I just can't let you go I'm caught between your being gone and your memories left behind For I have pain when I see you and pain when I don't It's like running through gravel without shoes it hurts every time... Through it all I have learned you're just in this heart to stay That eternity is "our" familiar end If I must run many miles to meet you just to watch you leave Then why not let me rest in your arms awhile, My Friend... Very sad and emotional write. It's amazing how tears and pain can produce such beautiful wistful thoughts in a poet....thanks for sharing! |

Actually bittersweet, and I enjoyed this one as so many can relate to your words, where the memories of a love keep the pain balanced. ~*~ I write ~ Therefore I am ~*~ |
