Orin Okerdink decided He was average through and through. He ate, belched and scratched his ear The way average people do. It was a comfort to be average. He could look around and see That nearly everybody else Was just as average as he. He once had dreams of being great-- A hero for all ages. Those dreams lie in a closet now Packed in faded diary pages. Orin will peek into a page, And a dream will fly out free. He'll close the book, "I'm average," He'll say. "Such dreams are not for me." One by one the dreams escape. Orin lets them them fly away. And if anyone is interested, Orin's average to this day. |

I truly enjoyed the flow and message of this. Very well done!! Sounds like a good one to have in high school classrooms and business lounges. |

We become what we think we are, so true! Great poem, Dom! |
