   Can’t Read Your Mind

I wish that I could read your mind
the words I searched for, I could not find
sounds became a confusing phrase
passed me by, I turned the page
is it my lack of understanding of words in motion
or was it I felt they lacked any true emotion
and is it, letting go the risk you fear
that all real words fell silent or never clear
so I became confused by you
never knowing where to turn or what to do
yes, I wish that I could read your mind
within it, maybe the truth I’d find
but it could be done in clear words you say
they set the path and show the way
it is now not the time to question why
that a hello would be a good bye
this, is the only truth I know tonight
I lit the candle, you blew out the light

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps
