In Memorandum (Sunshine’s Challenge, Paula thank you for the inspiration) Think of me even if it’s just one small memory Just recall the way I was here and I’ll be not sorry I was more than just a gun in someone else’s war There was something else to me I was much more I had warmth in my smile and I knew the stars My heart beat to freedom not to be held by bars My name was spoken in a whispered breathy sigh I had the means to spread my wings and to fly Think of me as you pass through your busy day Know that I had the power to make a heart sway My eyes beheld the wonder of lovers’ soft tears Watched through a night as I was beset by fears There was more to me than just another soul And that my passing has left somewhere a hole My heart understood passion I felt its fast beat And the memory of who I am is deaths defeat Think of me even if you don’t know my name For I am the reason freedom has a free reign My name doesn’t matter but you do my friend And it was for you all my life came to an end With you to recall the boys that are all now lost I ask that you remember what that war did cost And remember me as I lie somewhere now cold My life was the price of liberty that you now hold Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim |

Oh,Marsha~ Such lovely recall of those who gave~ Freedom is ours today - because of all the yesterdays of their lives. Thank you love, for this touching piece. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Great sentiment...wondering though what is the inspiration...great work.. Until you are are near it, you will never see it, until you live it you will never know it...this is why we must not judge it. |
