We all know where that line is. That line we cant cross. That line that separates acceptable conduct from the unacceptable. That line that may differ in location, with everyone. That line that determines an innocent grin from a gyrating jaw. That line we all hold in our heads... We all know when enough's enough. (Well, most of us, anyway) We all have a keen sense for that hollow chuckle percieved with a negative additude. Behind the formidable ramparts we place ourselves behind, There lies a good person. Behind our line of defense, we defend ourselves from a nonexistent enemy that can materialize from thin air, Triggered by a misplaced glance, A misspoken comment... A displeasing gesture... An unwanted aire of plastic... Behind our plastic defenses, is where we all truly are. Behind our need to appear in a pleasing way... Behind our thirst for a life of unending temptations, surrounded by darkness, enveloped in darkness, but governed and intended supreme by an almighty holy power, Behind that bitter thirst, Therein lies a lost soul... After the last party goer has left... After the lights turn on... After the sun comes back up... Who are we? On we continue, to cower behind the ramparts we set up for ourselves... Waiting for the cavalry.... Waiting for our love... Waiting for our love. Love is God. Love is war. Love is what your life is for. |
