In a corporeal internship...

Like a glowing gem of kindness
With a heart of solid gold,
His care and genuineness
Inside me I'll always hold...
His memory
Will always be
My warmth when things are cold...
The treasure of his friendship
I will treasure 'till I'm old...
And though he had to leave us,
So much sooner than was fair,
I know he would believe us
If he felt our despair...
I'll truly miss his gentle way,
His humor and his smile...
With all that we had left to say
We'll wait in the meanwhile...
Until such time we must take flight
Into the next life when
Again you two will reunite,
And I'll remain your friend...

Thanks, Sandra.  I wrote this for his wife after I learned that he had recently passed away...  They were next door neighbors where I grew up, and for many years, they were almost like "grandparents" to me through the years.  I thought this little expression might make his wife feel a tiny bit better...
I guess we still can post here, but I'll be moving on to #15 after this one.

Ron, thank you.  He really was a very good and decent man.  The news of his death came as a shock, as usually these things tend to do, so I wrote this in his memory and gave it to his wife.
