I almost wish that I could saddle up, And we could ride. To places known only to God... And there we could abide. And hear the wind just rustling- In the ash and pinion pine... And gaze into each other's eyes, Just below the timberline. But the days when we were dreamers- All now lie far in the past. And our dreams and aspirations- I fear are fading fast. Now the timberwolves are howling- And the hunting eagles cry... Out there in the wild Sierras- Where the dreams all go to die. First the bustle of our living- Seems to drain us of our will. To seek our dreams of happiness Our longings to fulfill... Then we awake to realize- How fast our days did fly... And long to seek, and find, the place, The dreams all go to die. |

I hope all of your dreams have not gone off to die! We all need to hang on to a few! Really nice poem. Betty Lou Hebert |
