for Ro Emptied from my hands, I entrust to you the Passover, Confessional conversation is lost to the earls of my black tea, its vapours trailing to a fireside slumber. Abandoned, the cup upon the table, you read my exorcisms, a thousand thoughts drifting, in flames, your hot chocolate marshmallows melt away. Smiling you return my thoughts, words at a loss, even the cutlery of our cosy neighbours raise barely a whisper. We sit savouring with breathless reverence, this moment's silence. -------------------------- Bewley's is a chain of cafes around Ireland. They are famed for their comfortable relaxed atmosphere. My favourite is the Bewely's on Westmoreland street Dublin where I spent many an hour with my closest friends. On a side note to Kathleen (irish rose) visit one when you come to Ireland, if you are in Dublin visit Bewley's upstairs on Henry street and look at the Jim Fitzpatrick Stain glass window, it is amazing. Oh and try and get a couch, they are really comfy. "Here I am in prison, here I am with a ball and chain There is whiskey in the jar-o" Traditional irish song. Now I am quite envious of Irish's upcoming trip...will you be meeting, and exchanging poetic thoughts? That would be something for her to look forward to, as well! And I would like to visit this place someday....must put it on my list of things to do! By the way, Brian - did I tell you lately how much I like your writing? |

This was just a delightful read and it brings a wanderlust, for sure. I love the way you've placed it on the page, not just the space it occupies but each line and its break |

I dont know what AOL's problem is... Great write Bri-babes me Feels like Im dancing with truth and wisdom |

Decaflame,I hope to be in Australia in 2002 after I finish college. But if I am around the country, I would more than happy to take Kathleen or any poet at Passions I know around Dublin and for a nice cup of tea. THank you for your comments especially your praise for my latest efforts, it is like of frightening for me writing about situations and moments without using relying on complex images. VAS, thank you. jan, simple moments it is amazing how they can mean so much. Thank you for your wonderful words. "Here I am in prison, here I am with a ball and chain There is whiskey in the jar-o" Traditional irish song. |
