Time Walking

Some days, time
seems to walk away from us
and words meant to come
never find their way.
Purest of heart, am I
holding my love for only one,
who has pierced this soul
leaving his mark.

If only I could turn back time,
erasing the wrongs in my life
my torment would be laid to rest.
I stand on the edge, wanting
to abandon all I have, for happiness.
Painting the rail that holds me back,
I am glimpsing a fresh look.
Listening to familiar tunes
raising a memory or two,
pushing back those feelings
of hopelessness.
Will this ever end?

I want to go beyond the unspoken
and share the unshared.
But I fade away from chance
and dwell in memories
of that first touch,
of strong hands, and of lips
that burned when placed upon mine.
At times, everything seems so distant
never to be within my reach.
A tear flows gently down one cheek.
I allow it to dry, and then continue
painting my way.

this poem is exquisite and this line:

I stand on the edge, wanting  to abandon all I have, for happiness. Painting the rail that holds me back,

then the recapping of it in your closing...superb!!!

Read my signature and you'll understand how I feel.  You've said this well.  We are all in charge of our own destiny.  Sometimes we find it easier to dwell in memories, rather than to create new ones.  Thank you for this.

You have a poetic paint brush and you use the colors of the rainbow.

Wow, Wynter.  Excellent work here.  Very emotional walk you took us on.  Yet the ground seemed so soft when we landed.

Very sad but so beautifully expressed!  Those thoughts of loneliness are made into a poetic escape by the skill of your words!
