Display perfection for me,
come now, no silence
from a crowd of would be
voyers that dig life so well.
Display perfection for me,
for it is all we seek
in the bits and pieces we
gaze at, in print and life.
We have taken the body,
torn it to shreds, tatters
let it fall on the floor
and figured out what was the best.
A bit of thigh,
the shape of the breast,
how the nose might arche,
the way the eyes stare.
Notice those lips slightly parted
for a moment I swear, heaven
how they licked in atticipation
what words they spoke.
And think not that this pertains
to the silly ways of men!
For women do the same
the same shredding we do.
Display perfection for me,
and pray that you have
not offended the Gods
who wonder at our lust.
Perfection comes in the imperfect,
the scar left from some accident
the beauty of grey hair
that of lost sight, or hearing.
Perfection is that we are the stars,
the dust of the cosmic whirl
that flies off the distant land
only to be seen in our eyes.

Michael,
I don't know what it is but I think I know what it isn't.

Very interesting piece you have penned here.  Made me stop and think.
