Evening Snapshots Virginia Salter Crisscross applesauce on store front sidewalk watching knees and feet go by Cigarette smoke corn dog scents blowing in the wind Touch of amber sifting in to gray marshmallow clouds Country gospel rockin’ ‘round twixt rollin’ jazz Farmer’s market Pepsi wagon puppies, kids, and ants Lamp posts glow a yellow-sun glimmer as sun's dying rays burn a window ‘neath nimbus and there’s music in the street. . . © July 14, 2000 |

"Willoughby... next stop: Willoughby." Sounds like a place I'd like to visit. Nicely portrayed, Virginia. -MVS "If you think you know it all, you have a lot to learn." |

It happens every Friday night during the summer months in Pendleton, Oregon. They call it "Friday Night Alive." There's even dancing in the street while the musicians play, allbeit mostly little children stealing the show. |
